World Famous Horseshoe Curve, Altoona, PA

Leaving the Altoona, PA, Amtrak station we passed around the Horseshoe Curve, a famous section of track known by most railroad buffs, built between 1848-1854.  It was so well known that during WWII it was found as a German target area on several captured documents.
